Friend, every bar in this little set has a story.

When we make our soap, we work in small batches the old way — slow, by hand, paying attention. And along the way there are always good portions left over: the end of a well-loved batch, a scent we only made once, a color that turned out more beautiful than we planned. We could never bring ourselves to waste them. So we save them up, and when we have enough, they begin a second life.

Here's how: I slow-cook those saved portions for hours in a crock pot together with our own garden-distilled herbal hydrosol, watching and waiting until the soap melds back together into just the right consistency. Then I work in Epsom salt and, while it's still warm, hand-press it all into sturdy wooden molds I built myself. What comes out is our Assorted Reclaimed Blend — bars reborn, by hand, from the best parts of everything that came before.

The Epsom salt is the one thing we add on purpose, and you will feel it. It gives these bars a gentle texture you won't find in our other soaps, and it presses them firm so they last well in the shower.

No two are ever alike. Each bar is a one-of-a-kind blend of colors and scents you simply can't get any other way — a true surprise, and an honest one. I smell every batch myself, and I'm always pleasantly surprised by how lovely the random blends turn out. These are generous, hearty bars (larger than our usual size), full of the same gentle, traditional, skin-loving soap our regulars know us for — offered for a few dollars less, simply because each set is a surprise.
