  • No. Each Makartt nail file is carefully pre-buffed before shipping to remove sharp edges. Unlike regular nail files, you can use it directly without rubbing the edges yourself—smooth, safe and comfortable from the first use, especially for beginners.

  • 100 grit (coarse): Best for removing acrylics, gel polish, dip powder, and shaping thick nails. 180 grit (medium): Ideal for refining edges and smoothing natural nails. Lets you shape, remove, and smooth with just one file.

  • It works for both. The 100 grit side is designed for acrylics & thick nails, while the 180 grit side is suitable for natural nails when used gently. For very thin or sensitive nails, you should use light pressure or pairing with a higher grit file.

  • Glass nail files are gentle but may not have enough power for acrylic removal. Regular emery boards can be effective but may come with sharp edges that need extra prep.
